Little Mel is the project of Brisbane jazz and soul singer Mel Lathouras.
Blending straight-ahead jazz, soul, blues, and pop with a camp twist, Little Mel is all about creating an electric atmosphere where everyone feels seen and inspired.

Mel has headlined festivals, toured nationally, and sold out shows at QPAC.

She works with Brisbane’s best musicians—prioritising femme-identifying artists—to craft unforgettable performances, whether it’s an intimate soirée or a high-energy celebration.

Mel Lathouras (she/her) is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and storyteller known for her soulful stylings, sharp wit, and magnetic stage presence.

She cut her teeth in Brisbane and Melbourne’s rock scenes, fronting The Warm Guns alongside Screamfeeder’s Kellie Lloyd and sharing stages with Violent Soho and Urge Overkill. A sought-after backing vocalist, she’s also toured with Tim Steward and collaborated with some of Brisbane’s finest musicians.

Armed with jazz degrees (Bmus & Mmus), 15+ years of live performance, and a gift for storytelling, Mel moves effortlessly across genres—from soul and jazz to Greek music and rock. She has headlined and sold out shows at QPAC and performed at Brisbane Powerhouse, The Tivoli, Brisbane Jazz Club, JMI Live, and beyond.

Beyond the Stage: Mel’s Legacy Work

Mel is the founder of Fearless Singer—a coaching & community platform empowering femme singers to love their voice, take up space, and build careers on their own terms.

Through mentorship, showcases at the hippest Meanjin venues, and jazz jams, she helps artists step into their power.

She is also the creator of Femme Jazz & Femme Music, productions dedicated to elevating female-identifying musicians and reshaping the industry—one bold performance at a time.
